October 22, 7am. 58 deg. 10 to 15 knot North Winds. Partly sunny skies. Heading
to Swansboro 41 miles. Dale had a dead battery. Two tries to get out of slip.
Full enclosure is up. Mainsail is fully open. Motoring low RPM, 5 knots speed.
Slight waves on port beam. Morehead to Swansboro, good steady trip. Both sails
up. Wind 10-23 Knots. Warmed up nice and sunny too. Anchored down at Swansboro

October 23, 7am. 57deg. 10 to 15 knot North Winds. Cloudy and light rain.
Heading to Wrightsville Beach 49 miles. Motor sailed. Rain showers are about
over. Going through the bombing range now. No activity happening today. Winds
are 10-20 from the west. Made it through the Onslow Beach bridge at 9am. Dale
ran aground waiting for opening. He was able to power off. Anchored down at
4:30pm at Wrightsville Beach near short bridge. Dinghy to town dock and ate
dinner with Dale, Debbie, James, and Amanda at Tower 7 Baja Mexican $53.
October 24, 56 deg. 10 to 15 knot North Winds. Cloudy and very light drizzle.
Staying in Wrightsville today so we can play Pickleball at local park complex.
Started at 8 am. Just 3 of us at first, then a ladies group came in. Then 2
younger guys came to play. Played to noon. Really nice courts. Going into town
after lunch. About 70 degrees. Moving on to St James Marina tomorrow.
October 25, Pulled anchor at 7:45am. 61 degs. and cloudy. Winds north west and
are light about 5 knots. Heading to St James Plantation Marina. Many dolphins
swimming around us this morning. Cape Fear river is nice and calm. 68 degrees
and tide is high with very light winds and no waves. Marina is real nice with a
private community around. Walked to ICW and to a local park. Ate dinner at
Beacon315 restaurant $40. Dale and Debbie coming over tonight for Spades.
October 26, 56 degrees at 8am. Untied dock lines heading to Calabash today.
Sunny and calm winds. About a 25mile day. One hour from Calabash, getting cloudy
at 71 degrees. Front sail up with 9 knots of east winds. Took dinghies to town
and walked around. Had a late lunch at Captain Stacey’s, shrimp and fish $42.
October 27, 57 degrees at 7am. Pulled up anchor and heading towards Georgetown
54 nautical miles. Clear skies with 7 knots of wind. Made through 3 opening
bridges. Anchored near factory. Got Diesel fuel from marina.
October 28, 60 degrees at 8am cloudy and light rain. Winds North 15-20. Played
Pickleball with only Dale this morning. Had lunch at Rollin Local Hibachi $44.
Alicia and Debbie went to Food Lion with Uber. That had a difficult time getting
a ride back. Worked on portable dinghy fish finder charger.
October 29, heading to Dewee Creek anchorage today, 45 miles. Pulled anchor at
7:25am. 59 degrees, cloudy, but no rain. Winds north about 10-15. Left anchorage
at low tide. Not much water at Georgetown. Been against the rising tide current
for most of the morning. Winds mostly 15 knots north on beam. Anchor down at
3:40pm at Dewee Creek Anchorage. Winds now blowing 20 NW and 63 degrees.
October 30, heading to Fenwick Cut, Ashepoo River 7:30 am. Need to make 7 miles
to Ben Sawyer Bridge opening by 9am. Leaving just after low tide, 68 degrees
with NE wind at 10-15. Made it early through bridge and water depths good. Rainy
now in Charleston. 62 degrees at 9:30am. Sailboat Aquila from Canada just passed
by. They are heading to Bahamas. It’s noon now and the rain finally stopped.
October 31, Halloween. Heading to Beaufort SC. Winds light at 5 knots east.
Waited to leave at 8:15am for higher tide. Made it through 5.8ft section of cut
to the river. Flat calm on the river heading to Beaufort. Going to get a mooring
ball for 3 nights. Planning on some sightseeing, eating out, and Pickleball.
Temperature is a warmer 68 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Arrived at Beaufort
moorings at 12:30pm. Partly sunny and 79 degrees. Went walking downtown and then
dinner at Luther’s Rare & Well $47. Wi-Fi code - LetsGoBoating!
November 1, At Beaufort SC city mooring field. 70 degrees this morning. Took a
cab ride, $20 to play Pickleball at park. 2 nice courts and lots of players. Got
a ride from Pickleball Sandy to Walmart and then back to marina. Ate lunch on
boat and then got diesel and gas. It has warmed to 80 degrees and light winds
and sunny skies. Tonight, we went to a restaurant called "Q on Bay" and had some
SC pulled pork. $34.
November 2, at Beaufort SC mooring field and 58 degrees. Heading out 7:30 to
play Pickleball at the park. Went to eat at Seaside Grill for lunch $35.
Temperature is now 77 degrees and light winds.
November 3, leaving Beaufort and heading towards Georgia at 7:30am. 61 degrees
and mostly sunny with light 7 knots north winds. Dale is leaving at 8:30 am to
catch tide. So far, we have excellent ride and wind for motor sailing. 10:30 am
passing Hilton Head. 68 degrees and 10 knot winds with good outgoing tide.
Anchored just past Possum’s Point in Montgomery, Georgia at 4:30pm
November 4, Heading to Darien, Georgia. 7:00 am. 59 degrees 5. Knot winds north.
Crossing Sapelo River at noon. 71 degrees with north winds 10-15 and partly
sunny skies. Now heading to Frederika River Anchorage instead of Darien. Dropped
anchor at 6pm. Long day. Tomorrow is Fernandina.
November 5, Heading to Fernandina Marina, 73 degrees with 10 knot southeast
winds and light rain.
At noon 45.5knot winds hit us during a freak rain storm. We had the full front
sail up. Was not a fun few moments. Almost a knock down. All is good now. Sun is
out and 80 degrees. We arrived at Oasis Marina in Fernandina at 3:45pm. Slip
cost wat $115 for night and WiFi Code: "oasis123". Played PickleBall at Central
Park with Dale, Debbie, and couple off of sailboat "Sojourn". We also had dinner
out at Peppers Mexican Grill $52.Replaced Alicia's small fan tonight and washed
boat down.
November 6, Time changes back tonight. Going early to Central Park to play
PickleBall again. This time with Dale, and folks off of sailboat "No-Limits",
John and Joann. Leaving Marina at 10am and heading to Sisters Creek anchorage.
Winds SE 15-20 mostly on the nose. Mostly cloudy 78 degrees. Bumped ground 1
mile south of marina. Depth at 4.6 feet. Rain showers on and off. Winds shifted
to on the nose and tide was against us for most of the day. Anchored down at
Sisters Creek at 3pm. Dale and Debbie went to Jim King dock.
November 7, Heading to St Augustine today. 76 degrees at 6:15 am with very light
winds and sunny skies. Tropical Storm Nicole heading this way in a few days.
Dale and Debbie turned north and are heading to Fredric’s River to anchor out
for storm. We are continuing to the St Augustine Marina. We got a great slip for
the storm when it arrives. Got off boat and went to lunch at MoJo's BBQ $48.
Walked around town then back to boat to begin storm preparations. Winds starting
to crank up to 20-25 knots. Boat is sitting well in slip at marina.
November 8, staying at St Augustine marina until Saturday. 76 degrees today and
very windy 20-45 knot north winds. Mostly cloudy. Went to Staples to get new
passport photos done, then Ichiban Buffet for lunch $24, Walmart for some food,
post office to mail photos, and the back to marina to tie Jennabird with more
dock lines. So far not too bumpy at the docks.
November 9, very windy most of the night. 30-55 knot north winds.
68 degrees this morning no rain yet. Just a little boat motion in the slip but
everything is looking good!
November 10, still very windy this morning. Eye of Nicole is over Orlando. Winds
are East 25-55 knots. It’s 74 degrees at 7am and very rainy. The boat is still
in one piece.
November 11, spending another night at the marina. 75 degrees with 15 knot south
winds. Partly cloudy today. Went for a few walking trips to Mojo’s for lunch
again $33. Visited a few shops and the Catholic Church. Had supper on boat then
went for another walk to listen to a few street bands. Booked flights home
instead of driving. $127 plus $89 cab ride.
November 12, partly cloudy and foggy. Left dock at 6:05am heading to Daytona
anchorage. 68 degrees with light south winds. Going to try to make 48 nautical
miles. Going through Crescent Bridge was exciting with total fog and running
radar. Fog is lifting a little now. Real nice day today, was able to sail a bit.
We anchored just past the George Munson Bridge in New Smyrna.
November 13, on way to Titusville. 73 degrees, partly cloudy, light south winds.
Tide is a bit on the nose. Made it to Titusville Marina before a rain storm hit.
Temperature dropped to 67 and winds picked to 25 knots. Filled up diesel
$5.50/gal. Secured boat in slip.
November 14, at Titusville Marina. Walked to C-Waffles Restaurant for lunch. Had
Hamburgers and onion rings $32. Ate supper on the boat.
November 15, at Titusville. A warm 72 degrees. Cleaned boat, emptied water jugs,
and prepared for leaving boat for 6 weeks.
November 16, leaving Titusville this morning in cab to airport $89. Going to fly
Frontier Airlines 2 hour nonstop to Raleigh RDU. $27 flights each. Arrived at
home and it's cold here!
Part 2
December 27, after a very slow and long drive down interstate 85 yesterday, we
dropped off the rental car and headed towards Melbourne Beach anchorage at 10am.
Winds are 15-20 north behind us. 50-60 degrees today and sunny. We should be
able to anchor down at 4pm. Tomorrow we will head to Vero Beach city marina and
meet up with Dale and Debbie.
December 28, heading to Vero Beach mooring field. 56 degrees. 10 knots of north
winds and sunny. We are on ball #44 with Dale and Debbie
December 29, Sunny and warm today in the 70’s, went to yacht club parking lot
this morning to play Pickleball with cruisers. Had lunch on boat and then took
the dingy to the beach for a walk down the boardwalk. Afterwards we met up with
some more cruisers for a potluck dinner.
December 30, partly sunny and warm. Went into town using the free bus system.
Did some shopping with Dale and Debbie then had lunch at TOOJAYS restaurant, a
NY style deli.
Worked on a few boat projects then went dinghy riding all around the marina and
mangroves. Cooked hamburgers on grill for dinner.
December 31, Another sunny warm day at 79 degrees and light winds at Vero Beach.
Played Pickleball this morning with Dales, James, and Chris. Ate a salad for
lunch on the boat. Going to play cards tonight with Dale and Debbie.
January 1, warm and sunny 75 degrees. Worked on and fixed dinghy engine. Worked
on Bahama routes for GPS. Grilled steaks for dinner. Swapped over propane tank
for stove, will have it refilled at marina tomorrow.
January 2, warm and sunny again. Playing Pickleball early. Will take the bus to
an indoor complex. There is a $6 per person fee to play. Going to have lunch at
Moe’s with Dale and Debbie.
January 3, my Birthday. Played Pickleball, went to beach, and went to a big
birthday dinner at Riverside Cafe.
January 4, played Pickleball at Fitness club with a bunch of folks. Ate lunch at
Chef Linn’s Hibachi. Cleaned winches an Jennabird in Afternoon.
January 5, played Pickleball with Dale and group at yacht club court. Made a
grocery run to Publix, $160. Filled water tanks and topped off gasoline tanks
for Bahamas crossing. Cooked hamburgers on grill for dinner.
January 6. Left mooring field at 6:30am. Cool 55 degrees. Winds north at 15 -20
knots with partly cloudy skies. Heading to Lake Worth near Peanut Island
Anchorage.
January 7, left anchorage this morning. 8 knot NW winds. Sailed out inlet to
ocean. Full sails up and heading to Miami Stadium Anchorage. Waves started out 4
ft swells and at 10am they are 2 ft behind us. Now motor sailing with just head
sail making 5.8 knots. Still a bit of negative tide against us. We arrive at
Anchorage in the dark. East entrance to inlet and anchorage.
January 8, left stadium anchorage and headed to Crandon Park Marina for diesel
and water. Then sailed to NoName Harbor. Took a FreeBee golf cart Taxie to
WinDixie for last provision run before Bahamas.
January 9, Tried to head to Bimini today, but thunderstorms and squalls kept us
from leaving. Temperatures warmed up and now we are heading to play Pickleball
with John and Joanne off of NoLimits. $9 per person to play at recreation center
in Key Biscayne. Went to Pizza Place to have lunch. Went back to boat and
started preparing to cross to Bimini the next morning.
January 10, woke up early and left NoName Harbor for our crossing to Bimini.
North West winds at 15 and 71 degrees. Pulled anchor up at 6:50am. Crossing was
somewhat smooth at first. Winds picked up to mid 20’s. Seas were 3-5 feet behind
us on port side.
Made it to Bimini in under 8 hours with NoLimits and Believe. Checked in and
went for drinks on the beach and a sunset view. Bahama Mama Drinks $12. Today is
a Holiday - Emancipation Day. We could not get an ALIV Sim Card for internet but
we were able to get a BTC card instead
January 11, We headed out of the marine near 8am. Motor sailed to North West
Channel in very light winds. We did fly our Spinnaker Sail about half way across
the Bahama Banks. We got to our anchorage spot after sunset. It was a bit bumpy
through the night, the winds had picked-up some.
January 12, We picked up anchor and headed towards Chub Cay and then Frazier’s
Hog Cay to anchor for the night. on our way we put out fishing lines through the
deep water at the Tounge of the ocean. Then right as the sun began to rise,
BOOM! Fish ON! Tried to reel the fish in, saw it dance on the top of the water
several time, then it tossed the hook, Bummer. We discovered an issue with our
Engine's Fresh water/anti-freeze pump. Once we anchored, we addressed the water
pump issue and discovered the bearing had failed. We did not have a spare for
this pump, bad me. later on we went to the beach and dinghied to the mangroves
for a drift down a river with large fish and sea turtles. I ran the dingy into
the mangroves once and Alicia got cutup on her arm, bad me again!
January 13, We have reservation at Chub Car Marine to wait out a big Northerly
blow. We had to baby the engine and mostly sail to the marina 5 miles away. We
got into the marina before the winds picked up and had to back into the slip.
during backing in, I "love-Tapped" another boat, but did no damage. Oh well!
After checking in we called our friends and previous boat buddies, Will and
Linda, to see if they could help us order and deliver a water pump to us at the
marina. We also called our friend Lorain and Mike to completely understand what
went wrong with the pump. After a bit we now have a pump being flown to us on
Tuesday so we can continue our trip. So we went to the hot tub at this resort
marine and made the best of it!
January 14, Woke up late today with 40+ knots of wind blowing. We doubled the
lines on the boat to the dock. Going back to the pool and hot tub later, then to
the Nauti Rooster Restaurant near the marina at 3pm for Happy Hour and Dinner.
Nauti Rooster was hopping tonight. Played darts and shot pool, the girls played
cards. It was a good time.
January 15, Kind of a chill day, worked on some boat projects. Hung out a the
hot tub with NoLimits, Believe, Swift, and a few others. Went back to Nauti
Rooster with Sailboat PhaseII to talk about things to do in the Exumas.
January 16, Alicia's Birthday! All of the sailboats with us left this morning
and headed to West Bay at Nassau. We went exploring around the island in the
dinghy, looking at sea turtles, sharks, and starfish. We finished the day going
to the pool and hot tub. Cooked steaks for dinner.
January 17, We will find out today if the pump will be on the plane from Fort
Lauderdale. Skies are clear today, about 72 with light winds. Got some diesel
today at the fuel dock to top up Jennabird's tank. I went to the mechanics shop
to get a few gallons of anti-freeze. The water pump arrived and we had to deal
with the customs agent before he would release the package to us. We went to the
hot tub for a while then we went to the Nauti Rooster restaurant for Taco
Tuesday. $41
January 18, Went for a long dinghy ride to a deserted island where Alicia found
some great shells. Later on, it was back to the pool and hot tub, then dinner at
the Nauti Rooster.
January 19, worked on a few boat projects. Went to pool and hot tub for our last
few hours at Chub Cay Marina. Checked out around 2pm and moved to anchorage in
front of the marina. Was a bit rocky but settled down as the winds dropped. Went
to sleep early.
January 20, woke up early to prep boat for cruising and fishing to Nassau. Half
way across, still no fish. Motor sailing in very light winds and waves. Arrived
at West Bay Nassau, no fish. Jumped in the water after anchoring and dove on
prop to check for grass. All good. Decided to give the bottom a good cleaning.
Alicia and I went to the local beach and the dinghies around some of the island.
Sailboat Adventure came into the anchorage and we had a drink with them. Alicia
made us pizza tonight.
January 21, we pulled up anchor at 6:45am. Scott and Lisa on Sailboat Adventure
as well as several other boats are heading to Shroud Cay in the Exumas. About 72
degrees and mostly sunny. Winds are about 10 southeast. Currently we are motor
sailing. The winds died down a bit so we put the sails away. Later on, before
arriving to Shroud Cay we were able to sail again. We anchored down about 4:30pm
and are preparing to have porkchops for dinner.
January 22, jumped into dinghy this morning and headed out to mangroves to see
turtles, rays, and fish. Jumped into water at the “Rapids” near the inlet for a
fast-floating ride through inlet. Dinghies through inlet and went around Island
to another inlet. Cooked Chicken for dinner tonight.
January 23, woke up early to head out to Cambridge Cay. We will be meeting up
with NoLimits and Believe. Adventure decided to head to Staniel Cay today, Lisa
fell and hurt herself. About 77degrees today and very sunny. Made it to
Cambridge Cay had both sails up running over 8 knots. Dropped anchor before
noon. Headed to Aquarium, plane wreck, Elkhorn snorkeling spot, and the Rock
Dundas Cave. Went to local Sand Bar for sundowners. Then back to boat for
burgers! Perfect weather all day.
January 24, moved boat to Rachel’s Bubble Bath, about 2 miles. Then sailed to
Big Majors / Staniel Cay.
January 25, woke up early to play Pickleball in town with John, Joanne, Fred,
Joleen, Mario. Fred had a portable net and we drew a court using chalk on the
basketball court. A little windy but it was good to play. Afterwards we all went
to yacht club for lunch. We had Fish fingers and shared an order of onion rings
for $52 water to drink. Went to beach for sundowners.
January 26, woke up early to play Pickleball in town again. Got 10 gallons of
diesel for $6.85 per gallon. We ate lunch after Pickleball on the boat. We all
went for dinghy rides and snorkeling adventures.
January 27, made a trip into town for some groceries, gas, and diesel. Gasoline
was $7/gal eggs were $12/dozen. Went for dinghy ride towards sound. We left the
anchorage after lunch and he’s to Black Point. Went to the new Scorpios for
dinner and happy hour, $53. Had a very large number of cruisers there. Everyone
got blitzed.
January 28, Alicia went to the laundromat while I filled our water tanks this
morning. I played Pickleball at the school basketball court for several games.
It was a bit windy and we had some rain as well. Hung out on boat for most of
day doing a few projects. Heading to Lorain’s restaurant for a buffet dinner
@$25 each. Tonight, after the buffet we had karaoke singing and dancing. Oh my!
January 29, it rained quite a bit last night with gusty winds. This anchor spot
at Black Point is really protected. Not sure yet what we will do today with one
more day of 20 knot winds. Very warm today about 80 degrees and east winds. Sent

January 30, nice day today 15 knot winds and warm. Dinghies to White Bay to see
the iguanas. Dinghied to Little Bay to see the Castle and hangout on a perfectly
white sand beach with a group of boaters. Had drinks and played some Bocce Ball
and then group tournament style darts. Came back to boat as the sun was setting
to cook hamburgers for dinner.
January 31, light winds today. Went to beach access to fill up our water jugs.
Went to beach north of us to repair dinghy chaps. Took a 3-hour nap before big
party tonight. Lorain opened a new restaurant called High Tide. Everyone from
the harbor and Black Point community showed up for free drinks and food. Live
band, singing, and dancing.
February 1, moving boat to Jacks Cove. Big 3-mile trip! Stayed on Jack’s beach
for a while. Lacey Kay showed up with 3 dogs and a catamaran dropped anchor
right next to us, so we moved the boat to Oven Rock close to Little Farmers Cay.
Went hiking to cave and sound side beach. Sailboat Jera speared a large lobster.
We hung out with Lisa and Scott (sailboat Adventure) for his birthday and went
back to Jennabird for dinner and to do Jennifer’s taxes.
February 2, day before Little Farmers 5-F’s sailing regatta. Hung out at beach
for the morning, then had burgers at Ocean Cabin Restaurant. Walked around
Island and then hung out at yacht club with friends. We went back to boat for
dinner.
February 3, Regatta Day. Watched the Bahamian Sailboats race. Tried to have
lunch at Ty’s restaurant but they ran out of food. So we ate lunch and dinner on
Jennabird after the races were over. Moving to a new anchorage tomorrow.
February 4, pulled anchor up and headed towards Georgetown. Full moon with light
winds. Flew both sails for the first two hours before winds and waves increased.
Decided to take a detour through Lee Stocking and sailed behind the islands for
a few hours and have lunch before heading back to big water. Made it to
Georgetown after 3pm. Long afternoon of pounding into waves. Anchored down at
Monument Beach alongside of NoLimits and Believe. Had a ham steak meal for
dinner and went to bed early.
February 5, Went to town for lunch at Peace N Plenty restaurant. Had chicken
sandwiches for $47. Picked up some groceries before heading back to boat.
February 6, Went back to town for water, gas, and diesel. Got stuck in a squall
on our way back to boat and got drenched. Sun came back out so we went to Flip
Flop Beach for a swim and birthday party. Met up with some more cruisers. Had a
bond fire with S’mores. Watched to sunset then made it back to boat for pizza.
February 7, Alicia went to water aerobics this morning. We will attempt to play
Pickleball after lunch. Winds are blowing hard today, around 20-25 knots.
February 8, winds still blowing hard. Worked on a few boat projects, had lunch,
and went to FlipFlop Beach for the afternoon. Played some bocce ball up to it
started to rain. Headed back to boat and had tacos.
February 9, winds are still strong today. Alicia went to water aerobics this
morning. We are planning for a beach party this afternoon at Flip Flop.
February 10, Rained a bunch this morning. Winds died down to zero for a while.
Went to Flip Flop beach for most of the day.
February 11, Made a run across the harbor for some water and to dump trash.
Dinghy seat broke half way across. Found some lumber and made repairs. Went to a
swap shop at Chat and Chill beach. Alicia got a free beach/air chair. Spent most
of the afternoon at Flip Flop Beach swimming and grilling hotdogs.
February 12, Superbowl Sunday. Dinghied across river to Splash Resort to watch
the game with a bunch of other cruisers. Wings and beer night! Winds went to
near zero and made it a good crossing each way.
February 13, Windy day today, winds in lower 20's blowing NW. Cooler as well
around 72 degrees. Lazy day on boat, worked on taxes and a few projects. Alicia
slept in until lunch time. Went for a short dinghy ride around our anchorage
talking to our neighbors.
February 14, Valentine’s Day, we are heading in to town today after water
aerobics. Played PickelBall and did a little shopping too. We all had a
Valentine’s Day lunch at Driftwood Cafe, Awesome Pizza.
February 15, Arrgghh Meeting today at 4pm, but first we went to town to play
PickelBall again. Met a bunch of cruisers at the beach for our "ARRGG" (Alcohol
Research Group) meeting.
February 16, "Road Trip" - Rented 3 cars at $60 each for our group to drive
across Georgetown Bahamas. Started out really bad with a flat tire after Scott
hit a pot hole in the road. We put the spare tire on and 5 minutes later ...
Boom! The spare blew after Scott hit another pot hole. Needless to say, we lost
our $100 deposit for that car. We went to Santana’s Bar for a drink in South
Georgetown, then lunch at Blu on the Water restaurant. Fish Tacos for $45. Later
on we drove to North Georgetown to go to the drug store and meat butcher. We had
a tough dinghy ride back to the boat later that day because of strong winds. We
made pizzas and went to bed early.
February 17, At 7am, the winds blowing strong and expecting to slow down near
10am. Heading to town to play PickelBall then Flip Flop Beach to relax.
February 18, Alicia woke up not feeling well and had a fever and cough. She
stayed on the boat all day. I went across the river for a water run. We both
stayed isolated from everyone around us.
February 19-23, Alicia and I have Covid. Bummer...
February 24, Feeing much better today. Went across to get water and groceries. Went to Talent / Variety Show at 2:30pm. It was a very long show.
February 25, woke up early to pull anchor up at 6:00am to begin trip to the north. Sailed in 15 to 20 knot east winds. Made good time to Rudder Cay near the Sunken Piano. Waves were 3-4', a little rough, but mostly behind us. Dinghied around to Goat Island and spent aftern oon at beach.
February 26, Very light winds and hot today. Dinghied to remotes islands and Musha Cay around David Copperfield's home. Went snorkleing the sunken piano and spearfishing at Rudder Cut Inlet at slack high tide. Went for a hike to Sound Side and found a few beaches and friends. Heading back to beach at 5:30pm for Sun-Downers with cruisers.
February 27, Heading to Black Point today via the Sound Side, hoping to catch some fish! Hooked a very large Mahi Mahi, but the fish tailed danced and threw the hook.
February 28, Today is JoAnne's Birthday on NoLimits. Took a dighy ride to Little Bay and hungout on the beach. We all went to Scorpio's on the waterfront and had a huge party for JoAnne.
March 1, Headed to Big Majors Cay (Pig Beach). Snorkled the Grotto, took a dighy ride out one inlet and back through another, then went swimming at the Cookie Jar Beach. Scott and Sonya on Catalyst gave us some Wahoo to cook tonight on the grill. Preping boat tonight for an early departure to Rock Sound, Eluthera, 9-10 hour sail.
March 2, Pulling anchor at 6:15am for Rock Sound. No fish. Made it to Rock Sound in 9 hours motor sailing. very good conditions. Went into town to the Market Place Grocery store. Went to Orchid's Bar for drinks with several cruisers.
March 3, Going to take dighy around and go exploring. There is also a Blue Hole in town and a Junkanooo Party tonight. We also went to the Wild Orchid Bar for cruiser drinks specials.
March 4, Heading to Govenor's Harbor this morning. Winds blowing around 15 knots south east. should be a 4 hour sail. We sailed with the Spinnaker today, awesome trip. went to eat at Buccaneer's Restaurant with live music. Had 2 hamburgers, onion rings, fries, 2 beers, and 2 sodas for $83. Food was excelent.
March 5, We walked a few miles over a hill to French Leave Pink Beach. We swam in the flat calm ocean.
March 6, We said goodbye to Dave and Sue on Beleive. They decided to head back to the states early. We sailed to Alabaster Bay. Sailboat First Love is here. Went to a small island beach after lunch. Hung out with NoLinits, Bleu Flue, First Love, and a few others. Played Bocce Ball on the low tide sandbar.
March 7, Staying at Alabaster Bay for another day. Winds are shifting West, but are around 10 knots. Anchorage is rolling a bit. Went for a dinghy ride after doing a few boat projects. Ate lunch and headed back to Island Beach for drinks.
March 8, Stayed at Alabaster Bay for one more night before heading to Spanish Wells.Played some more Bocce Ball on a different beach.
March 9, Sailed to Meeks Patch today. Winds were gusty at lower 20's. We sailed most of the way, also caught a small Tuna. Went to beach and played Bocce Ball with group.
March 10, Moved boat to NE side of Meeks Patch near Spanish Wells. Winds are expected to blow from SW. Took a dinghy ride into Spanish Wells. Ate Lunch at Wreckers neat the marina, $61 for a Burger, Wings, Coke, and a beer. Heading over to Bleu Flue for drinks tonight.
March 11, Hung out all day on the boat. Winds were 20-25, but we were protected for most of the day for the SW blow.
March 12, Moved boat to Spanish Wells Yatch Haven Marina today. We explored around the area in the dinghy, went to the beach, went to the pool, then had dinner with group at Wreckers Restaurant at the marina. Pizza, wings, and 2 sodas for $60
March 13, Alicia is renting a golf cart all day. We will be driving it around the island today. I will change the oil in the dinghy engine today, way past due.
March 14, Went to Buddah's Restaurant for a late lunch with SandBox and friends. Had went to Pappa's Scoops later on for dessert.
March 15, Went to lunch at Wreckers Restaurant today with First Love, Gill and Sharlene. Had drinks on JennaBird with SandBox and friends. Rained most of the night.
March 16, Sunny day, moving out of marina and will be staging for tomorrows crossing to the Abacos.
March 17, Changed our minds and decided to cross to Bimini instead to make a weather window crossing to Florida. Woke up early and headed towards Chub Cay, then across Northwest Channel to Cat Island, then Bimini. Seas were predicted to be 4 foot swells, but ended up being 6+ with confused wave direction. Had to Hand steer the boat until the banks. Sea state was bad as well for the Banks and we decided to go all night to Cat Island. 25 hours late, we arrived.
March 18, had a few hours on sleep at Cat and headed to Bimini Blue Marina. Our crossing to Florida had closed, so we will stay in Bimini until Thursday next week.
March 19, went for a walk to Bimini Beach and then a dinghy ride to the very back end of Bimini. We are meeting Dave and Sue tonight for drinks and card games.
March 20, Walked to Grocery Store today with Dave and Sue. Cheated my diet and had a ice cream sandwich. We met Nicole on sailboat Arta. We went back to Dave and Sue's boat for more cards and drinks.
March 21, Walked over to the Dolphin House Museum and took a tour with our group of friends. Had Tacos for lunch on Jennabird and will have a meet and greet with sundowners later on today.
March 22, played cards with Sue and Dave
March 23, Prepped the boat for tomorrows crossing. Went to beach for a bit.
March 24, Left the Bimini docks this morning around 7am and headed across the Gulfstream to West Palm Beach. Arrived around 6pm at North Palm Beach anchorage.
March 25, Still Anchored down at North Palm Beach. Went to Publix and West Marine this morning. Heading out later with our friends Ran and BB to a local restaurant for dinner. Moving to Peck Lake tomorrow.
March 26, Stopped at Peck Lake and anchored. The Anchorage was too rolly and too crowded so we left the anchorage and headed to Vero Beach. Winds were behind us about 22 knots. We hade a good ride through the day. Tied up to First Love boat at the mooring field.
March 27, At Vero Marina Mooring Field. Heading into town for a few things and maybe lunch. Went to the beach this afternoon and had dinner on the boat. First Love came over after dinner for drinks and cards.
March 28, Alicia is heading in to do laudery and Pet the diver is going to scrub our bottom today.
March 29, Left Vero mooring field and motor sailed to Titusville. Winds were very strong all afternoon and died off durring the evening.
March 30, Headed out at 8am this morning. Motored sailed to Daytona Anchorage. Winds were around 15 knots for most of the day. They are light tonight. going to leave out at 7am in the morning and head towards St. Augustine or further.
March 31, Headed out at 7am this morning from Daytona. Winds were light at first and gradualy build during the day, mostly Southeast. Had a good motor-sail all day and anchored in Pine Island just 12 miles north of St. Augustine. We will be heading to Fernandina in the morning.
April 1, Decided to go past Fernandina and went all the way to Jekyll Island. Went to local restaurant with First Love. We each had a shrimp plate and drinks, $50.
April 2, Anchorded up at 8:15am after we got some fuel from the marina. Very nice day with light winds. mostly a motor day with some sailing. Made it to Wahlburg Creek on St Catherines.
April 3, Made it to Beaufort, Went into town and had pizza at the only open restaurant
April 4, Went out to ocean and made a jump to Dewee Creek arriving at 9pm to anchor out.
April 5, Went to Georgetown, SC and had lunch at Rollin Local.
April 6, Left Georgetown and went 2 hours to anchor in the Forrest on a small creek. Went for a dinghy ride around the area. Pulled anchor up and went to next anchorage to soend the night. Saw an alligator in the marsh.
April 7, Went 2 hours today to Osprey Marina to wait out a cold front for a few days. Had pizza delived to the boat.
April 8, Still at Osprey Marina with lots of rain.
